Optimum Brasses Ltd.
authentic lost-wax castings
Since
1981 we have supplied thousands of faithful replicas of antique brass furniture
fittings by using the lost-wax process, the right brass and careful individual
finishing and patination.
Not the usual reproduction hardware, our brass
castings are taken straight from genuine examples of William and Mary, Queen Anne,
Georgian, Chippendale, Hepplewhite, Sheraton, Regency, Victorian, Arts and Crafts
Movement and Edwardian origin.
We can make plate handles or pulls, key escutcheons,
knobs, pear-drops and axe-drops, hinges, feet and castors, table clips, bolts
and catches, finials and spandrels for clocks, mounts, mouldings and paterae,
bolt covers, keys and dresser hooks, upholstery pins, parts for pianos and many
architectural items.
Lost-wax castings have revolutionised furniture restoration.
We are proud to have satisfied our customers' needs with more than 7000 different
items.
Our Main Catalogue shows almost 600 items from across our range that
we keep in stock for immediate despatch. To view the catalogue in PDF format or

Some
customers have asked us to repair metalwork or modify castings. We are not adequately
equipped to do this, but are happy to supply contact details of some skilled metalworkers
who are willing to do this work. You must deal directly with them: Optimum is
not to be a go-between or guarantor.
